The Circular Economy Explained

What is the Circular Economy 100?

Have you heard the term “the circular economy?”  What does it mean to us as individuals, families, community decision makers or a business owners?  According to an informative new video just released by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation “it’s a framework for building an economy that’s regenerative by design.”  In other words, products are intentionally designed and created so nothing we manufacture, buy or need to discard “is lost. Everything is transformed.” This means we reduce our individual consumer footprints as we buy things and in turn, vastly reduce the amount of waste we create on this beautiful, fragile planet.

The Circle of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle is Explained

The video contains super cute graphics and is easily sharable with kids. It explains how the idea of the circular economy is already in motion amongst thought leaders, CEOs, designers and the next generation.  In fact, any product or commodity that’s easily reusable, resalable, and recyclable is already part of this important energy-saving circle. So it’s not surprising that the concept of a circular economy is estimated to be worth a whopping $1 Trillion to the global economy.  That’s one powerful reason to put our heads together!

What Can We do?

The fact is such a big idea is much harder to accomplish as an individual or just one business.  That’s why the Circular Economy 100 brings together key influencers from around the globe to leverage their skills and expertise together.  Want to know more?  Check out the full video on our ATRS Recycling YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe for more updates.
