Approximately 30,000 marathon and expo attendees helped American Textile Recycling Services (ATRS) “Rock, Run and Recycle” at the Rock n’ Roll Marathon & Expo San Antonio in November 2012! Participants supported the recycling campaign with bags of unwanted clothing, shoes, and household items donated into convenient recycling bins while kids stopped to visit with our mascot Ricky the Recycler. The fun, furry character was on hand for photo ops while educating San Antonio residents on the importance of recycling for a greener tomorrow.

As the exclusive textile recycler for the Rock n’Roll Marathon, ATRS collected discarded clothing, shoes, running gear, medals and unused food items at the start line, along the race route and at the finish line. This free service cleared the race route for the City of San Antonio and ultimately diverted 10,000’s pounds of waste from local landfills. Donations collected at the marathon helped to support two of our non-profit organizations in San Antonio- COIL and Eastside Community Connection.
