ATRS is Gearing up for Earth Day Across the U.S.
Earth Day is right around the corner! We’ve got a ton of events lined up in our neighborhoods and we’re super excited about it. Check out the events listed below to see where you can join in the fun and environmental awareness.
What is Earth Day?
The first Earth Day was on April 22, 1970, where 20 million Americans are credited with launching the modern environmental movement. Fast forward to today and more than 1 billion people are said to be participating in Earth Day activities around the world each year! We’ll be on hand at Earth Day Dallas April 20-21 at Fair Park, in the heart of Dallas, Texas. The event looks to center around the Eco Expo where ATRS, along with other exhibitors, will promote our achievements as green leaders while teaching attendees how to be responsible environmental advocates. What’s better than celebrating Earth Day at a beautiful lake? Not much. This year San Antonio Texas hosts Earth Day at Woodlawn Lake April 20. ATRS staff will be on hand to help share and educate the community on the values of recycling!
ATRS will have a presence in Nashville Tennessee on April 20 at Centennial Park for Nashville Earth Day. The event is aimed at educating Nashvillians about protecting our environment and we’ll be sharing how our textile recyclers fit into that equation. We’re super excited!
The Central Florida Earth Day will be held on April 20 at Lake Eola Park. Come check out our textile recycling booth along with the other hundreds of sponsors, vendors and contributors as we celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Earth Day!
The fine folks of Denver are providing a zero waste event at Denver’s Earth Day Fair showcasing local businesses, organizations, and agencies that practice or provide environmentally-friendly and sustainable services or products.The fair takes place at the Denver City & County Building Plaza at 1437 Bannock Street (Inclement weather location, Wellington Webb Municipal Building Atrium, 201 W. Colfax Ave). Of course ATRS will have a booth where we encourage you to visit and learn how we’re striving to keep textile waste out of Denver’s landfills.
On April 20 Lakewood Colorado is hosting a one-day Lakewood Earth Day Celebration showcasing companies, agencies, and organizations that provide products, services, resources and infomration for attendees to make more sustainable choices. Of course we’ll have ATRS staff on hand to help educate our neighbors on how we work hard to make Lakewood greener!
Join ATRS at the Norman Oklahoma Earth Day Festival April 21 held in Reaves Park, located at 2501 S. Jenkins. Come join the City of Norman and other local organizations in teaching the importance of protecting our earth’s air, water, forest, wildlife and all natural resources.

We’re hitting OSU campus in their Go Green’s 4th Annual Earth Day Fair to celebrate Earth Day and promote environmental awareness and stewardship. The event will be at the OSU campus on the north side of the Student Center on April 25. Come check it out and see how today’s college students are learning how to go green!
Nichols Hills, OK
Planet Nichols Hills is hosting its 6th annual Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 20 and ATRS is going to be on hand! The event will take place at 1203 Sherwood Lane, Nichols Hills, Oklahoma at the former First Church Christ Scientist!
We’re so happy to be involved with Keep Phoenix Beautiful on their Earth Day Phoenix 2013 event! Located in downtown Phoenix on April 22 at Cesar Chavez Plaza, directly across from City Hall the event promises to teach Phoenix residents about recycling and sustainability. ATRS will have a booth, of course, where our awesome advocates will be joining in the festivities and enthusiasm.
American Textile Recycling Services (ATRS) returns to the Michigan Earth Day Fest Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 26-28, 2013 in Downtown Rochester, Michigan to share the environmental and charitable benefits of textile recycling with communities in the Mitten State.
