ATRS Brings Textile Recycling To Popular Katy Thanksgiving Marathon
Thanksgiving Day was not just Turkey Day for the ATRS team as they joined over 20,000 Katy residents at the 10th Annual Katy YMCA Turkey Dash for a day of running, entertainment, food, and networking. ATRS partnered with the Katy YMCA to sponsor three areas at the marathon including Ricky the Recycler Race in the Kid’s Zone where kids raced to throw unwanted clothing into mini-recyclers, two water stations that ensured runners were replenished throughout the marathon, and an information booth where residents were educated about the benefits of textile recycling. Such a fun day with so many fun people! Not only did ATRS participate as a business sponsor but also sponsored eight runners—Travis Boyd, Danielle Burns, Toni Burns (2nd place winner in the 5k for age 65-69), Lucy Lloyd-Jones, David McGellan, Louise Rothwell (7th place winner in the 10k for age 40-44), David Ruth, and Yvonne Ruth.
The Katy YMCA is one of ATRS Houston’s local non-profit charity partnerships and hosts one of our recycling bins year round.
